Holiday 2019 Is Here!

Red, Green . . . and a little unexpected

MERRY, MERRY . . .

The holidays are here, and this year, we’re setting our table with what we like to call updated traditional. It’s got the traditional red and green color palette, silvered mercury glass accents, paperwhites and even holly berries, but it feels modern and fresh – a bit unexpected. Our exclusive Verdant Tablecloth sets the scene. The stylized leaf pattern on a warm red ground create a lush backdrop. Sparkling accents, like our Silvered Candlesticks (in small, medium and large) are a festive touch. We’ve paired them with red taper candles to carry the red from the tablecloth vertically. We’ve added a cake plate to the mix. It’s the perfect piece on which to let your dessert take center stage. Or, use it to add height to your other table top décor. On this table, our Brass Bottle Chiller is doing double duty as a cachepot with classic paper whites planted inside. The other green on the table is from our new Green Striped Plates and Bowls. With its delicate lime-green lines and soft red border, this dinnerware is a fun but elegant addition to a holiday table or looks right at home for a casual summer lunch.

OUR CO-FOUNDERS "DISH" ON THEIR HOLIDAY FAVORITES

Favorite holiday tradition?

JEN: My dad always made an amazing Christmas morning breakfast. He cooked scrambled eggs in a double boiler, english muffins under the broiler and bacon cooked to crispy perfection. We would eat with the crazy excitement of wondering whether Santa came, giggling about who had the fattest stocking and appreciating that we were all together. I'll never forget those mornings. I've done my best to pick up where he left off and now it has become my kids tradition as well. The simplest meals can be the most meaningful and I always feel like my dad is near when we sit down to our Christmas morning breakfast.

AUDREY: Around the holidays we always bake my grandmother's famous strudel recipe to remember her. . and of course because it's delicious! We spread the apricot or raspberry jam, and my son loves to fill the inside with cinnamon sugar, raisins, and nuts.

Favorite Holiday Food?

JEN: ALL OF IT. Savory, sweet, hot, cold, yum! But back to my tradition, my dad's scrambled eggs on Christmas morning will never be beat.

AUDREY: I could eat sweet potato latkes all year round, so I am always excited for them at Chanukah time. And, Orwasher's Bakery makes amazing jam-filled doughnuts.

What do you love most about the Fete Home Holiday 2019 table?

JEN: Sparkle! I would have sparkle in my home all year round but there is something incredibly special about candlelight through mercury glass during the holidays. That warm twinkly glow and it is so easy to achieve with a few candlesticks and a hurricane!

AUDREY: I love how EASY it is to set this table! The holidays shouldn't be stressful. Set the table without having to worry about silver to polish and dishes to hand wash. Spend time with your family, cooking, shopping, relaxing . . . doing what makes you happy. This is a table that is festive, fun and effortless.
